Chromebooks are powerful tools that support students in their everyday learning by providing easy access to educational resources, collaboration tools, and productivity apps. With cloud-based storage and fast internet access, students can research, take notes, complete assignments, and collaborate with peers from anywhere.

3D PRINTING LAB

3d printer

Woodland Road Public School offers an equipped 3D printing lab!

3D printing is a cutting-edge technology that allows users to create physical objects from digital designs by layering materials like plastic or resin. For students, learning 3D printing fosters creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on STEAM skills. It helps bring abstract concepts to life, making subjects like engineering, design, and even biology more engaging.

CODING

dashbot

Dashbots provide a fun and interactive way for students to begin learning coding. With simple block-based programming, students can easily control their robots, developing problem-solving and computational thinking skills. Dashbots encourage creativity as students code them to move, light up, and even respond to voice commands. This hands-on approach makes coding accessible and engaging, laying a strong foundation for future STEAM learning.

CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERS

APCI working with teacher

APCIs (Assistant Principal, Curriculum and Instruction) work alongside teachers both in and out of the classroom to support literacy and numeracy practice. These leaders support teachers with assessment implementation and identification of student progress, new syllabus implementation and the monitoring of student outcomes.

SISA

SISA

Our school is proud to offer the Sports in Schools Australia (SISA) program, providing students with access to high-quality sports coaching once a fortnight—completely free of charge! This initiative encourages physical activity, skill development, and teamwork, giving students the opportunity to engage in a variety of sports under expert guidance. By participating in SISA, students can build confidence, stay active, and enjoy the many benefits of sport in a fun and supportive environment.

YEAR 6 LEADERSHIP CAMP

QUALITY TEACHING AND LEARNING RESOURCES

programs on offer

At our school, we are committed to making teaching and learning fun, engaging, and effective by investing in high-quality resources. We use Essential Assessment to support numeracy development, Decodable Readers Australia to support early reading development, Inquisitive to bring social sciences to life, and Amplify to enhance music education.  Reading resouces such as StoryBox and The School Magazine are also available for all students. These innovative tools help create interactive and enriching learning experiences, linked to the curriculum, ensuring students stay motivated and excited about their education. By providing access to the best resources, we empower both teachers and students to achieve their full potential!

VEGETABLE GARDENS

veg gardens

At our school, we take pride in our thriving veggie gardens, where students get hands-on experience in growing and caring for fresh produce. Each class plays a role in maintaining the gardens, learning valuable skills in sustainability, teamwork, and responsibility. Over time, we've successfully grown a variety of vegetables, including pumpkins, watermelons, potatoes, carrots, and lettuce—just to name a few! This initiative not only promotes healthy eating but also fosters a deeper connection with nature and the food we eat.

GAMARADA PROGRAM

MURAL

Our Gamarada program is a dedicated space for our Indigenous students to connect with and celebrate their culture. Through storytelling, art, language, and traditional practices, students deepen their understanding of their heritage while building a strong sense of identity and community. Gamarada provides a supportive environment where culture is honored, shared, and embraced, empowering students with pride in who they are and where they come from.

STUDENT LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

SRC

Our school provides students with the opportunity to take on leadership roles as School Captains, Vice Captains, and Sports Leaders. These positions allow students to represent their peers, develop confidence, and take on important responsibilities within the school community. Whether leading assemblies, organizing events, or promoting sportsmanship, our student leaders play a vital role in fostering school spirit, teamwork, and pride.

Our school proudly offers a Student Representative Council (SRC), giving students the opportunity to develop leadership skills and have a voice in their school community. Through the SRC, students collaborate on initiatives, represent their peers, and contribute to school decisions, fostering a sense of responsibility and empowerment. This program helps build confident, engaged leaders who make a positive impact within our school and beyond!

Additionally, we offer roles within the Junior AECG where students will be invited to their local AECG committee meeting to share and report on Junior AECG activities within their school.

BUDDY LEADERS PROGRAM

buddy students

Our Buddy Leaders Program pairs Stage 3 students with younger classes to provide guidance, support, and friendship throughout the year. Through shared activities, reading sessions, and special events, our buddy leaders help create a nurturing and inclusive school environment. This program fosters leadership, responsibility, and connection, giving younger students positive role models while allowing older students to develop important mentoring skills.

LEVEL 0 REWARD DAYS

level 0

Students who remain on Level 0 get to enjoy special reward days as a celebration of their positive behavior! These fun-filled days include exciting treats and activities such as ice creams, slushies, movies, and play equipment, giving students extra motivation to make great choices throughout the term. It’s our way of recognizing and rewarding their efforts in creating a respectful and responsible school environment!
