The Daily 5 is a literacy framework that creates a classroom of engaged and independent readers and writers. It is a student-centred instructional method of explicit teaching and practicing of concepts. Sessions of 10 minutes include each:
- Read to self
- Read to someone
- Listen to reading
- Word work
- Work on Writing
Students have the opportunity for independent practice of reading and writing to build stamina at their level.
