L3: Language, Learning and Literacy
L3 is a targeted literacy program to support all students to become successful readers and writers. It is based on providing rich literacy experiences in an authentic and engaging manner.
Short, sharp explicit lessons in both reading and writing are taught in ten minute blocks to ensure engagement is maintained.
The teacher works explicitly with small groups of 3-4 at a time on their individual reading and writing goals while the remainder of the class works independently on a variety of carefully selected literacy tasks.
Student progress is monitored through consistent collection and analysis of data.
