Getting Ready for School Program

Woodland Road PS is proud to offer an immersive Getting Ready for School transition program to allow your child to get a taste of what big school is really like!

During these sessions, students will engage with their future teachers and become familiar with spaces and routines around the school, ready for their first day.

These sessions also offer an opportunity for parents to attend our Kindergarten Information session where we will answer all your questions about big school.

All future Kindergarten students will receive a welcome pack containing important parent information for parents, as well as useful and practical resources for your child, including our Social Story.

Parent Information Session

Join us during your child's Getting Ready for School program as we discuss all things Kindergarten at Woodland Road.

Information such as dates and times on this, and other parent sessions will be communicated to you by the school.

Teacher Meet and Greets

Our teachers and staff are passionate about getting to know you and your child to ensure that we can best cater to their individual learning, social and emotional needs.

Before your child starts Kindergarten with us, you will be invited to a one-on-one Meet and Greet interview where we can comfortably get to know you and your child.

This is intended to be read to/with your child to familiarise them with places and routines within the school.

The story features our school mascots - Max and Millie.

Involvement in our special school events

We love involving our community in our special school events. Younger siblings are welcome at most of our school events such as Easter Hat Parades, NAIDOC celebrations, assemblies and open days.
